Unfortunately, like any other IRC network, RetroNode is a potential haven for scammers, drug dealers and other scum of the earth.

We are convinced that certain people really do deserve a minimal penalty of disclosing their identity and their wicked deeds to safeguard untwitting folks against interacting with any such individuals in the future.

Below is the list of local offenders with their profiles and modus operandi.

Modus operandi	This particular individual roams IRC in pursuit of naive and generous folks to dupe and take financial advantage of them. Is a patient one and can stick around for a year or longer to gain your trust. Tends to change nicknames for every new network. He may have friendly heartfelt conversations with you. He may offer help. He may act on it, too, which could involve free handouts and small services. But all just to build trust and rip you off later by asking for a loan where interest rate depends on your budget and generosity. After receiving a loan, he disappears most iconically never to be seen again. He may also collect your personal details, full name, home address, etc by offering to mail you things, which can turn into BLACKmail. Also, he doesn't care if you're poor, crippled, miserable, etc, he will do it anyway for whatever benefit, big or small. It may not make any sense to you, but it sure as hell makes sense to him. Anything for another shot of meth or heroine. DO NOT share any personal information with strangers, especially if they are somewhat curious. DO NOT give out loans to anybody no matter how nice they are. Chances are, if they are too nice, it's just a facade and they are being nice for a very specific purpose, which is seldom benevolent.
